Legos + 80s Games + 8 Bit music

Wow- that was a long drought. Sorry for the delay. I am back and better than ever (perhaps) and ready to bring you more. Keep an eye out for my latest Photologue. But first…

Do you like Legos? 80s Videogames? 8-bit Music? No? Well, if you did, you would totally dig this Youtube masterpiece. And it was so easy to make- only 1500 hours of work! What could be easier?

There is so much to love in this video, but I particularly enjoyed the Karate Champ references. If you liked this post, you may enjoy my Lego Mario post. And the 8-bit trip video even included a hint to my next Photologue post. Here’s a clue- it is the scene with the pyramid. Oh wait- that’s a terrible clue. Yes, my Photologue features my trip to the Great Pyramids of Giza. Stay tuned.

CLIO awards calling

This has got to be the best promo I’ve seen.

Viral marketing is often attempted and rarely achieved. This video really hits the mark, though. In the short time between when I viewed this video to when I wrote about it, the video’s views have shot up from ~30k to ~190k. If Hammertime the show can match the entertainment value of this promotion, A&E will be all set. As Don King would say, “Only in America!”

Suck on This!

Looking to buy a gift for the billionaire-to-be baby in your life? Might I suggest this…

Diamond pacifier. Yes, I said diamond pacifier.

I GUARANTEE you will be the only person at the baby shower to give this diamond pacifier. YES- I SAID DIAMOND PACIFIER. WTF?!?! Glad to see the recession isn’t quite affecting everyone. At only $17,000, this pacifier has to be a joke, or some sort of conceptual art piece. $17k for something your kid would chew on? Save yourself a couple grand and get your kid a pimped-out stroller instead.

As a side note, the website ’selling’ the pacifier (I am guessing that diamond pacifier sales are a bit sluggish) offers a large lineup of other, more reasonably priced children’s gear. However, beware (or enjoy) their line of political clothing. It seems to target liberal consumers and anger conservative website visitors.

New Year, New Look

I know, I know…in my last post I said I was too full to post more today. Thankfully my coma lapsed long enough for me to give OuttaLeftField some long-awaited TLC.

This new design will allow OLF to face the new year in style. I’d love to hear what you have to say- drop me a line.

Uh oh- I feel that food coma coming back. Stay tuned for more post-holiday treats.

Turntable Cufflinks & Watches

Turntable cufflinks

I was browsing cufflinks.com and found some more cool stuff. These turntable cufflinks are fantastic. But…I’m thinking that there is something missing. If you really want to drive the point home, you need to put the cufflinks together with one of my all-time favorite watches. The Flud Tableturns watch (with steel band, of course), shows your love and is great for semi-formal occasions.

Flud Tableturns steel watch

The ‘record’ part of the watch has grooves cut into it which reflect light beautifully. This watch is guaranteed to turn heads. If you want to go with a lower-profile look, you might prefer the 33 1/3rd. This watch has a circular shape and features just the record and platter.

Visit Flud Wathes’ Where to Buy page for more info, or check out some of their other watches.

Gama-Go Photo Royale wraps

Gama-Go’s Photo Royale wrapped a few days ago. You can check out the Flickr page for all the entries. The winning picture shows the Gama-Go Yeti running with the bulls. Congrats, douglasspics! There are tons of amazing images in this Flickr pool, but one in particular grabbed my attention. This image from Yeti Set Go shows a sweet Gama-Go quilt that would look great in my room.

Speaking of things that would look good in my room, check out new spring ‘08 must-haves at Gama-Go’s photostream. You can contribute to their upcoming store by purchasing hoodies and more. For store updates and the latest Gama-Go news, swing by their blog.

Wii cufflinks? For real?!

Wii cufflinks

No way!!! Kotaku.com has a great page highlighting some crazy wii cufflinks from Cufflinks.com. For only $150 (ouch), a pair can be yours. These cufflinks are ‘reversible,’ too- a wiimote on one side and a nunchuk on the other. For more info, check out the product page.
